Cherry Trees

In the dream
The two trees, entangled
Each limb indistinguishable from the other
Bearing similar flowers – pink, delicate
Lolling heads, long yellow stamens
Each with a berry, round and purple
Yet one elixir, one poison
And so interwoven
That I could not discern
And so I could not eat
